Players can get points for putting the bag into the hole in the board. Bags that miss the hole and stay on the board are worth points as well. If a bag doesnt stick it gets no points. The game can be played singly with one person against another. Playing in teams of two is also possible in the cornhole game. A doubles game also requires two cornhole boards. Separate boards are needed for each team. In singles play, both players use the same board.

Many retailers carry cornhole set. Sets can be bought that contains board, bags, and instructions. It is not expensive to purchase a cornhole set. These sets can provide hours of family fun. Many people use this game at parties, picnics, and other gatherings. The cornhole game is more popular in specific areas of the country. Because of this, its popularity is spreading to other areas of the country as well. Not everyone enjoys this kind of game. Technology has come so far that many people do not have room in their lives for old-fashioned types of games.
